Job Description
The Program Manager at Rock Spot Climbing is responsible for daily programming, including single-visit groups, multi-visit groups, recurring gym-related programs and event coordination. The Program Manager will work closely with the marketing and corporate team, and report directly to the Youth Program Director and Gym Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all group/event bookings and ensure adherence to all booking and event policies
  • Communicate with group/event organizers to ensure a positive experience
  • Coordinate Youth Program schedule, including make-up classes and late enrollment
  • Create and implement lesson plans for specific markets or needs
  • Coordinate gym program schedule and enrollment, including recurring classes or events
  • Identify areas for growth or improvement within program schedule, and build or update classes as necessary
  • Create floor staff schedule
  • Shift supervisor shifts, open/close the facility
  • Other management duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous event coordination or program management experience
  • Experience with employee scheduling
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work nights/weekends
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working with youth of all ages
  • Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience

ROCK SPOT CLIMBING is currently looking to hire SHIFT SUPERVISORS for our Peace Dale, RI & South Boston, MA locations!!

Job Description

The shift supervisor at Rock Spot Climbing will oversee all aspects of the day to day operations of the gym as a supervisor on duty. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the operations manager.

Responsibilities will include:
Opening/closing the facility
Checking the facility for safety/cleanliness issues
Checking in/accepting payment from customers
Selling services, memberships, and retail items
Counting registers at the beginning and end of all shifts
Supervising and organizing all floor staff
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive atmosphere
Provide excellent customer service in person or over the phone
Conduct initial group bookings under the supervision of the group booking manager
Process daily paperwork
Be able to perform all floor staff functions
Provide input for agenda, and attend supervisor meetings
Other management duties as assigned (e.g., assistant retail supervisor, assistant marketing supervisor)

High School Diploma
Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
Previous supervisory experience
Detail oriented and organized

The Youth Program Instructors at Rock Spot Climbing will run weekly classes and special programming for youth at the facilities. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Director of Youth Programs and the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive learning atmosphere
Committing to a 12 week class schedule
Interacting professionally with both parents and students
Implementing and monitoring lesson plans and curriculum
Managing the flow of activities/learning during class as well as from week to week
Teaching hard skills (belaying and knots) as well as technique on the wall
Adapting and modifying lessons based on the needs of the students
Functioning as part of a team
Being able to perform all floor staff functions

Desired Skills and Experience:
Outgoing, friendly personality
Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field
Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
Experience working with youth of all ages
Experience creating or implementing lesson plans

Ability to engage an audience
Ability to enforce rules and regulations
Detail oriented and organized
Punctual and reliable
CPR and First Aid (or willing to acquire)
