New Haven, CT – We (Rock Spot Climbing) TODAY announced that we will begin construction of a brand new indoor climbing facility with 2,455 sq. ft. of climbing walls IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN NEW HAVEN, ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE LEGENDARY SALLY’S APIZZA  in CONNECTICUT with ACCESS TO BOTH INTERSTATES 91 AND 95. The New Haven location will be our company’s SECOND in CONNECTICUT, joining three others in RHODE ISLAND, and three more locations in MASSACHUSETTS. We pride ourselves in being a Southeast New England based company almost twenty-five (25) years in existence; among the largest climbing chains in the country.

This NEWEST location will focus SOLELY on a form of climbing known as BOULDERING, where climbers, USING NO ROPES, scale climbing problems set on fifteen foot walls protected by a fully padded flooring system. This style of climbing was featured in the sport’s debut in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and will be our third (3rd) gym that focuses on this style of climbing. Our other facilities offer top rope and sport climbing along with boulder climbing. Along with bouldering, this facility will also feature a Rogue Fitness rig, a variety of cardio equipment, both a Moon and a Decoy training board, along with other amenities which will be confirmed once construction is complete.

Once construction is complete on this new facility in New Haven, CT, we will be building ANOTHER BRAND NEW FACILITY in WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT. This new facility is an update to our current facility, which we acquired at the start of 2022, and will also be a full-service facility that offers everything from bouldering, top rope climbing, and lead climbing. We will release more information on that project closer to the opening of the New Haven facility, but work has already begun to prepare the new space, which is in the same building as the current facility, on the other side of the walls we’ve all been climbing on! The space is significantly larger than the current facility and we’re very excited to provide this update for the community in Connecticut.
