We thought we would surprise you this time by not announcing the resetting of boulder problems…at either gym! (turns out most people don’t read or plain just don’t notice our little signs telling of the impending doom that is to come to all of their favorite problems)

That being said we are almost done setting the problems for Boston (MA), and we already finished setting for the Lincoln (RI) gym Last week.

We’re trying something different this time for Boston as far as the ratings are concerned…curious? Then go see for yourself what the fuss is about…

Now ratings aside, the problems are great! We hope you like them, but if you ever want to voice your opinion…(good or bad) please do so without hesitation. Simply fill out a comment card and place it in the comment box…done.

Happy climbing!

Done!!!…and there was much rejoicing…

Enjoy the new Campus Boards everyone…just make sure to put a crash pad below you. Concrete + Carpet – Foam = Not Soft!

TWO MORE DAYS!!!

Should be done by Thursday @ 6pm!!!!!!!!!!

Almost done…

57 New Routes and counting!!!

More than half of the Lincoln Rock Spot was stripped last week to make room for all of the new holds and new routes for our USAC Top-Rope Competition that was held on Sunday May 1st.

After a successful Comp (thanks to all of the competitors who showed up and chose to climb inside on what could be considered near perfect weather to climb outside) – we turned our sites towards resetting the rest of the gym.

After getting small amounts of holds trickling in here and there we decided the time was right to bring some new grips into the gym. About 600 new holds came in last week…which means two things. First…awesome new holds with actual texture and second…old holds (minus texture, but perfect for home walls) are going to be showing up in the pro-shop in Lincoln at super cheap prices. So keep an eye out because they won’t last.

So far we’ve got 57 new climbs, with more being set today and tomorrow. We’ll be resetting the lead cave soon as well so be on the look out for that update.

Thats it! Shut off the computer and get yer butts over to RI to check out of all the new great shapes and amazing routes!

***special thanks to my route setters and strippers…thanks!!!***

NEW HOLDS FOR RI ROCK SPOT!!!

…and there was much rejoicing…

Quick little update here…

Last Friday’s CCS Bouldering Comp was a blast. 50 new – awesome – unbelievable problems that were nearly conquered. I think all but 4 or 5 went down. A noble effort indeed. Pictures to follow (if I can find some). Thanks to Danny, Ryan and Anthony for helping me set the problems.

This Friday we do the same thing, only at our Boston location. Come on out, it’ll be a blast! Registration starts at 7pm. Climbing from 8 to 10:30pm, with the after-party right after you turn in your score cards.

After the Comp (next week), we’ll be filling in at both gyms. 15 – 20 more problems for RI and 30 – 40 more for MA.

Peace out! See you soon…

The boulder goes down (again)…

In the photo above we see our safety conscious Anthony cleaning an old Pusher hold.

The cleaning probably won’t help this dinosaur of a hold, but we wipe it down anyway. Actually I think the hold is older than the dinosaurs, as are most of the holds in our quiver here at the Lincoln Rock Spot.

But don’t worry…new holds are on the way. About 600 new grips! They’ll be here in time for our USAC top-rope competition on May 1st. Get psyched!

In the meantime, please be patient while we reset the bouldering…and when we are done…please enjoy the new problems.

So this is what our Top-Rope breakdown looks like after our USAC comp (Boston). We ended up with 52 new top-ropes ranging from 5.5 to 5.13. Overall the response to the new stuff has been great. Special thanks to the setters (Keith & Kumpy) and the strippers (Ian and Jason – ha ha)…and an extra special thanks goes out to my girl ATM, for helping me run the routes!

Thanks guys!

Now get down here and climb!!!
