Indoor Guide
Let our staff hold the ropes for you! This is a great option for families with multiple children, solo climbers, or where no one in the group is trained to belay, but the climbers want to move beyond the auto belays. One staff can work with up to 6 climbers at a time, each taking turns climbing the top rope walls. This is not an instruction, however our staff will offer encouragement and tips, and assist in selecting the proper wall for the climbers’ skill level. If you are interested in private technique classes for youth, please inquire at the front desk or email youthma@rockspotclimbing.com or youthri@rockspotclimbing.com.
Continuing your Climbing Journey
Technique Class
We offer private and group technique classes for the climber looking to reach that next level. Whether you’re a beginner who wants guidance getting started, or an experienced climber who needs some refinement of technique on the wall, we can pair you with an instructor who will work with you towards your individual goals.
Private lessons may be scheduled any time with advance notice. For group classes, please see our calendars. Most group classes meet for 4 weeks in a session.
Lead Class
Lead climbing uses more advanced climbing and belay techniques. It begins with the ropes disconnected from all anchors. The lead climber is responsible for clipping the rope into anchors set along the wall while the lead belayer gives the rope slack to accommodate the proper anchoring. Climbers must pass a test to lead climb or belay at any of our facilities. Lessons are available.
The lead climbing lesson takes two (2) sessions.
We recommend a minimum of 6 months climbing experience plus the ability to climb 5.9 very comfortably before signing up for this course. It is also recommended that an even number of people be present for the class with a maximum of four per session.
Classes by appointment only. Inquire at the desk to schedule an appointment. Cost is different based on location.
All lessons may be scheduled in the gym or by phone. For your convenience, most classes are available with online reservation by selecting your location under the Instruction tab.
