Last week, the CDC updated their guidelines to allow for fully vaccinated individuals to be without masks inside and outside. The state of RI will move to update their mask policies to reflect this change on Tuesday, May 18th and the state of MA on Saturday, May 29th.
We are excited that this is a step towards getting back to normal operations and life for most of our staff and climbers but we also recognize that many of our climbers, including our youth program members are not able to receive vaccines at this time.
Because of this, we have decided our current policy that all customers and staff must remain masked will remain in place until June 18th which is the final day of the current youth program session. This portion of our community signed up with our current policies in place and we want to offer them a consistent experience throughout their session. It also allows time for our states to increase their vaccination rates and for current infection rates to drop within the wider communities. This will also allow time for staff and customers who have recently received their shots to reach the point of being fully vaccinated.
During this time we will continue to collect feedback from staff and community members as we prepare our policies for the summer and beyond. These updates will be released prior to June 18 and will not begin until Saturday, June 19.
