Meet Big Matt

Our new climbing instructor & adaptive contact

This is Matthew Goyette, also known as “Big Matt,” our new Climbing Instructor & Adaptive Contact!

Big Matt has been an avid rock climber for the last 11 years and has worked with us at Rock Spot Climbing for 7 of those years. During this time, he has been improving his skills and knowledge to specialize in creating adaptations for others in the sport of climbing through our Outdoor Guiding Program, group events like our amazing Rock Climbing Merit Badge Program for the Boy Scouts of America and private instruction.

Matthew is also a frequent outdoor climber; focusing on sport, trad and top rope techniques. He has participated in our annual Ice Fest in Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire as one of our guides for 4 years now, in addition to volunteering for the “Over the Edge” fundraising event for the Providence Community Library.

Rock climbing is Big Matt’s passion. When he uses his skills to help others find success in the sport, it is the greatest fulfillment for him as an instructor.

We’re excited to have Matt provide unique adaptations to help families have a positive experience on our climbing walls. Send him an email at Adapt2Climb@gmail.com to schedule private instruction, group events and more!
