New Haven construction is about to begin!

The climbing walls are complete and in storage while we start general contract work in the coming weeks

We hit a few construction delays, but our climbing wall provider, Impact Climbing has been hard at work producing the walls for our brand new facility in downtown New Haven, across the street from Sally’s Apizza!

First off, let’s get one thing straight, apizza is NOT a misspelling. It’s a style of pizza that had its start in New Haven and it refers to handmade, coal-fired, sauce forward pizza on a thin, crispy, and chewy crust – charred, not burnt. It’s pronounced “ah-beetz.” Get it right!

We had a lot of people ask us about that and we want to make sure everyone appreciates the New Haven culture with us.

Now that’s settled, general contract work will begin in the coming weeks and since all our walls are sitting in storage, as soon as we’re at a point in the construction process where we can start installing our walls, Impact will be sending them down with a crew to put them in place.

We still have a long road ahead with administrative hurtles and there are always hiccups during construction so we appreciate everyone being patient through this process. There are a lot of people asking what our projected opening date will be, but we have no control over a lot of the process so we’d rather just keep everyone updated here and on our social media feeds. We will be working as hard as we can to try and open before the end of the year, but in reality, the project will probably go into 2024. Keep the psych high and know we are doing everything we can to open as soon as possible. The entire team can’t wait to climb with all of you in New Haven soon!
